But, I also mentioned that the carrot on the end of the stick (finding what was at the signal source) was what was keeping me invested in the story. That is still true after finishing the game. I mentioned in my impressions from last week that the first 30 or so minutes of the game are by far the least interesting, focused on exposition and have you walking around for most of it. Meaning, you always have what you need at all times, with no need to load back into a hub or town from earlier in the game, which is a huge positive in my book. So, you go off to find out what is at the source.Īlong that journey, you will meet a collection of characters, some that pop up for a mission and others that stick around longer and form a part of your crew, acting as a crating specialist, vendor, etc.
Not long after, you learn about a signal coming from beyond the walls humanity has explored. As an Altered you are imbued with energy from this anomaly granting you special powers and abilities. But, after encountering The Anomaly you become changed.
After waking up, you find out humanity’s attempted colonisation of Enoch didn’t work out and war has ravaged the land.
